One of the many things you hear, being born and growing up in another country, is this idea of the "American Dream." The dream that one could leave whatever trials or problems they had behind and start fresh in a new enviroment with limitless opportunities.
Having grown up in Nigeria and seeing what options were available to me, coming to the U.S. was a a bit of a culture shock. Although a welcomed challenege, things were not easy; from assimilating to meet societies standards to navigating the ins and outs of the system.
I finished my highschool education and moved on to acquire a Bachelors of Science (B.S.) from Old Dominion University with a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice. During my last few years at ODU, I was fortunate enough to work with Dr. Jeremiah Still who fostered my interest in Human Factors with diverse work in saliency as well as cyber security. Which then led me to apply to graduate programs, and commit to earning my Masters at George Mason University.
Outside of the academic realm, I enjoy reading, playing games (both board & video), spending time with family, friends & my dogs, as well as watching movies (mostly sci-fi & thrillers).
